Sonética
"Sonética" is a research project that explores the intersection between art and science through the creation of sound sculptures. In developing these pieces, the project investigates how different materials, shapes, and sounds interact to produce unique sensory experiences. The sculpture features a base designed as a resonance box, which supports an irregular conical shape connected to a metal bar with a vibrating piece at the tip. When the user interacts with the piece, they generate a vibration that is transferred to the cone, amplifying the sound and giving it a distinctive character and depth.
SONÉTICA
Year: 2024
Location: BARCELONA, SPAIN
TECHNIQUE: Machined and carved wood. Polished and bent stainless steel.
The goal of "Sonética" is to understand how vibrations can alter the consistency of objects and how sound can transform our perception of space and matter.
Each sculpture created within this project demonstrates how the abstract and the concrete intertwine, inviting the viewer to recognize the subtle interdependence between energy and matter.
This work is an invitation to introspection and creativity. By interacting with it, each person becomes a co-creator, experiencing in a tangible way the transformative power of vibration and sound.
"Sonética" celebrates the energy that unites and defines us, inspiring deep reflection on our connection to the universe and our ability to influence our environment.
I AM GLAD TO SEE you HERE
Alejandro Rondón was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1990 and currently has his studio in Barcelona, Spain. From a young age, Alejandro dedicated himself to painting and later to muralism during his high school years. He studied Architecture at Simón Bolívar University (USB) in Caracas, where he gained the tools necessary to advance his artistic career, integrating architecture with his art. Simultaneously, he developed his first sculpture pieces and explored his interest in music.
After graduating as an architect in 2014, he moved to Barcelona, where he was warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to learn about digital fabrication technologies. Over the past ten years, Alejandro has participated in numerous projects involving sculpture, architecture, and industrial design, which have been crucial for his development as an artist.
To synthesize and celebrate this decade of work, he has launched a new research project: "Sonética." This experimental space allows him to combine sculpture and music, his two great passions.
